Weiland, Harold B. (Hal)
After UPT and Castle I spent several years at Grand Forks flying tankers, which I mostly enjoyed. While there, Karlene and I adopted a baby girl in the spring and that same year in fall I got orders to 9th SOS in Vietnam. I eventually ended up in 361st Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron at Phu Cat flying the beloved goon. While I was in Vietnam, Karlene birthed our son. After completing my year in SEA, I returned to Seattle and took a discharge. Spent a few years in the National Guard there but nothing noteworthy. I worked at Lockheed and Boeing doing combat systems installation and testing on Navy ships. Spent a good bit of time in Key West testing the weapons systems on the PHM hydrofoils that Boeing built. Tough duty. In 2000 sold the homestead in Seattle and relocated to South Carolina where I now live, no longer with Karlene, now married to Norma since 2008. Life is good.
